Acorn Media has released a Blu-ray edition of the 2004 TV adaptation of Agatha Christie's "Death on the Nile". The feature film-length episode ran as part of the popular British series, "Poirot" and stars David Suchet as the legendary Belgian detective. Numerous actors have portrayed the sleuth on the big screen and television. Death on the Nile fails to meet the high standard of its predecessor Murder on the Orient Express. That being said the film is beautifully shot and the final act is an overall fun mystery ride. The film is generally well acted and directed. One negative is that the audience is just told things a little too much. Death on the Nile marks my first film review of 2022. Was it everything I hoped for. Meh. The film, which is finally releasing on February 11th, is arriving 2 years later than expected. Death on the Nile is 587 on the JustWatch Daily Streaming Charts today. The movie has moved up the charts by 146 places since yesterday. In the United States, it is currently more popular than Law Abiding Citizen but less popular than The Accountant. Based on Agatha Christie’s 1937 novel ‘Death on the Nile’, this film is the third screen adaptation of it and a sequel to ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ (2017).
